The Portuguese people were incredibly welcoming, warm and helpful--even on city buses and at random bus stops when they overheard us and thought we might be traveling on a wrong bus. The food was splendid and the sites were glorious. Saw two incredible art collections--more about that later.

The man, dressed like a banker or businessman, is wearing a crown with emblems of Portugal, Spain and commercial banks. He is holding the globe in and with a straw in his mouth sucking the center (or heart) of South America. Love the symbolism!
More manana.
I am safely back in London where it is expected to break 40 degrees F tomorrow. Nancy is enroute to her casa in Salamanca.
Fun trip.
